Graduation Speech

My experience at District 67 has been a cherish-able one. The people I've befriended, the memories I've made, the teachers I've come to know. All of these factors make one beautiful memory. I can call myself one of the luckiest people ever 'cause I got to be in the same class and/or grade as some of the best people ever. I often take pride in my school 'cause it's taught me how to accept people for who they truly are & never have I ever felt this accepted into a community than I have at District 67.
Thank you teachers and students for best 9 years of my life

Dear 10 Year Old Hareem,

My advice is to not live in fear. Everything'll be alright & living in fear will do nothing but mess with your own head. I also advice to step out of your comfort zone earlier than 8th grade. You've been missing out But just don't live in fear. much love.
Those pink glasses were not cute by the way

Pretend This Is a Really Good Title

"Beginnings are scary, endings are unexpected, but it's the middle that counts the most"

Elementary school was pretty laid back & relaxed and I loved every year but I don't think that had as great of an effect me on like middle school. In middle school, I broke out of the "shy" phase. I stepped out of my comfort zone & I made so many great memories along the way. I also realized what I had to do to get good grades & I found out my study habits. By far, middle school will be the most memorable year. And that's what I think this quote means. That once you start something, in this case school, it'll be a little scary. And in my case it was scary to the point where I couldn't even talk & my shyness got the best of me.
"endings are unexpected" means that you'll never know what'll happen to you. Will you get a job automatically? Or will you wait & probably get married or something? I will admit, I am scared for high school only because I don't know where I want to take my life afterwards.
"it's the middle that counts the most" means that in between the course of elementary & high school, middle school, you will make the most memories. And that's the truest thing I've heard by far.
I'll for sure miss all the people that I've grown up with but I hope everyone is happy with where they're at & where they'll be in a few years time :)

#ItsComplicated

I like to think of my life as 'straightforward' and 'pretty simple' when it's the farthest from. My relationship with my siblings is an example. One day I might lock myself in my room only 'cause I don't wanna see my siblings. The next day, I'm probably playing around with them & hugging them every 5 seconds.  :)

Testing & What I Think About It

At first I used to get mad about testing but now I've just kinda accepted the fact that we have to do it. We're in 8 grade now, we should really stop complaining. I mean, I still hate it, the testing, but complaining isn't really gonna do us any good. Now we should just be glad that the PARCC tests are over. We should now just kinda make the most of the 3-4 weeks we have left in GMS.

A Tribute for Someone Very Special to Me

As some people may know, my dad is someone I can never live without. I can't live without any of my family but anyhow. Recently, as many people who have my snapchat (alrighty then) already know, my dad left for an unspecified amount of time. It could range from a week to about 6 months. When he first left, I got super sad but didn't cry which I thought was really weird. But however, the next day, I broke down in my room cause I missed him so much. Fortunately he finished his work early & came back in 3-4 weeks. In that amount of time, I found out that my dad is a big part of my life. A humongous part, actually.
Now it's time for the really sweet things I'm gonna say about my dad. If you think I'm gonna cry, then you're 99.9% wrong 'cause I don't cry very easily but I will make sure to give my dad a really big hug when he comes back from work.
Everything I am is mostly inspired by my dad. He's one of the sweetest people I know & even if people think I'm all cocky & what not, that one percent of niceness came from him. My humor came from my mom though. But anyways.
The reason I'm passing school with exceptional grades is because of him. My mom was born & raised in Pakistan & moved to America when she had me and my brother with my dad. haha I bet you thought I was gonna say he was born & raised there too & moved when me and my brother were born. Well you thought wrong
My dad however completed his high school in a foreign country but he moved to America shortly after to complete his studies & become what he always wanted to be; an engineer.
But unfortunately, his dad died and since then my dad struggled to provide for his family & that's what makes him so special.
I wanna thank my dad for everything he's done for me. Without him, I don't what I'd be. He's all I have & whenever I'm sad, he's always there for me. People say "I hate my dad!" but if you ask me, everything I am is because of him. I love you dad :)

Magical Meeting; Who Would It Be?

If I could spend an afternoon with any three famous people, dead or alive, it would be Malala, Lauren Jauregui, and Barack Obama. I wouldn't do anything too over the top I would just talk, maybe go out and tour Chicago, and then like have dinner or something. I don't like anything too complicated. I'm more of a simple person.

I would want to meet Malala because she's stood up for girls' education rights and it went to the point where she got shot. You would think that after getting shot, she would quiet down and keep on the low. But this time she got up stronger. I also wanna meet her 'cause she's from the same country I am :)

I want to meet Lauren Jauregui because first of all, she's my favorite out of the girl band Fifth Harmony and plus, she's stood up for women rights. She's very passionate about what she believes in and will stop at nothing to get that point across :)

I want to meet Barack Obama because obviously he was a great president. I wanna meet him and thank him face to face for accepting people for how they are and for not messing America up. He will be missed :(

My Favorite Field Trip

My favorite field trip by far is the field trip to Springfield. We took these "coach buses" and it was actually really fun. I think we had to leave at 6 so technically, we had to get there at 5:45. And if you know me, I can never get enough sleep so I was pretty tired. Okay but anyways, the trip was pretty fun. The people I was sitting by were amazing and we were cracking some jokes and what not. We went to this really cool museum and after we went to McDonald's. The best part of when we were in McDonald's was when my friend spilled her drink. It doesn't sound funny, but trust me it was.
After, we went to see Abraham Lincoln's grave. Then we went to Chuck E Cheese's and even if I was 12, it was actually amazing. Then we got on the bus again, on which we all started singing random songs together, and we went home.
Springfield was pretty fun :)

A Review for the Best Movie I've Seen

The movie I'm about to write a review about is an Indian movie that was pretty sad but it's amazing.
Raees is the name of the amazing movie I'm talking about. Basically, there's this guy named Raees (his name means wealthy) and he lives in a place (Gujarat) where selling/drinking liquor is illegal. But that's literally the biggest business in Gujarat. Raees' mentor is one of the biggest sources of liquor and after his 'unfortunate' death, Raees takes his spot. A police man then is on Raees' tail to arrest him. A series of events happen that will make you feel pity, sadness, and happiness for Raees. But at the end, when something big happens, this movie will stick with you for a while. I remember that after the intermission, when the movie was getting really good, it was also really sad to see everything unfolding and I actually wouldn't stop crying. I could see one small pic from the movie and i could burst out in tears.
Okay but anyways, I know you guys probably won't watch this movie but I needed to get out how good this movie is.

Music, Music, Music, and Music (yes I know music is capitalized)

I love music. If you didn't know that about me, well now you do. I can not live without it. My favorite song as of right now is Needed Me by Rihanna. It's just really catchy. I also really love the song Sneakin by Drake. Warning, if you do not like swearing then I strongly request that you don't listen to Drake or that song. Or any other song that I might list that are by Nicki Minaj or Drake or any hip hop/rap artist.

My go to playlist is as follows;
1. Only by Nicki Minaj (ft. Drake, Lil Wayne, & Chris Brown)
2. Sneakin' by Drake
3. Trust Nobody by Cashmere Cat (ft. Selena Gomez & Tory Lanez)
4. Feeling Myself by Nicki Minaj featuring Queen Bey
5. Rolling in the Deep by Adele
6. Black Barbies by Nicki Minaj
7. Needed Me by Rihanna
8. Bad & Boujee by Migos (ft. Lil Uzi Vert)
9. Starboy by The Weeknd
10. Bom Bidi Bom by Nick Jonas (ft. Nicki Minaj)
11. I Don't Wanna Live Forever by Zayn & Taylor Swift
12. One Dance by Drake

But there are some songs that I absolutely hate or some songs that have been played way too much on the radio and that I've gotten annoyed of. Here are a list of those 7 songs;
1. Love Yourself (I still love this song but like I can only listen to half of it before getting annoyed. It's been played way too much)
2. Sorry (It's a good song but played way too much)
3. What Do You Mean? (Again, played way too much)
4. Same Old Love (Once more, this song is played way too much)
5. Bad Blood (Never liked the song)
6. We Are Never Getting Back Together (I actually kinda don't like Taylor Swift in general)
7. Stitches by Shawn Mendes (Played wayyy too much)

Dear President Trump

Dear President Trump,
My name is Hareem Riaz and I am a proud American Muslim. I want to find a reason to support you but I truly can't. I hope you realize what you are doing to this country. At the same time, I love that you've become president because it's shown everyone how united everyone really is.
Please President Trump, for the sake of the country that you and /i both live in, listen to the people around you.
Thank you and I hope you have a nice 4 years.

Best Gift Ever Received

Once upon a time, back when I was in 3 grade, I had asked my dear father for something I thought I would never get. A laptop. My father looked like he was trying his hardest to not burst out laughing. A 9 year old asking for a laptop? Pffft, forget it.
Little did I know that he actually had agreed on getting one. My birthday (June 24) came after forever and so did my birthday party.
It was time to open the presents. I opened all the presents I had gotten and thanked everyone. Then out came my dad with another box. It looked heavy but really wasn't. And when I opened, trust me, I was crying. There was the laptop that I had always wanted. My dad had actually gotten it. Reason #1001 why to love my dad: he never wants to see his kids sad. The only thing I remember is how hard I was crying to finally see a laptop that was actually mine. :)

My Name

Hareem. That's my name. Not many people have the name Hareem so that's one thing I like about my name. The other is the meaning. My name means "the walls of Kabba" The Kabba is the one specific place where Muslims go to pray. Yes, I am a proud Muslim. I am also proud of the fact that my name means something this respectful. Whoops I forgot to tell you all one important detail. of you touch the walls of the Sacred House, it's considered a great privilege. :)
Let's talk about the future shall we?  When I grow up and manage to have kids, I wanna name one Zayn. Whoops I forgot to tell you all another important fact/detail. You know Zayn? The amazingly talented pop artist? Yeah, he's Pakistani from his dad's side. And guess who else is Pakistani? Yup, it's me. Zayn is a Pakistani name that means 'beauty; grace' I love Zayn the pop artist and one of my cousins' name is Zain (spelled with an i) and I LOOOVE the meaning so ;))
I wanna name my daughter Ava or Ariana. I've just always loved those names. I don't know why. But anywhoo. Hope you all know a little bit more about me.
